For this series, Yamashita and Kobayashi adhered to the fundamental artistic method of creating a piece of artwork by studying the live motif through careful observation. The artists took a piece of firewood from nearby their house in Switzerland and brought it with them as they trekked through the Swiss Alps. They then used the wood to carve sculptures of the mountains spread out before them.
