A Spoon Made From The Land

2009, Video installation, HD video, 11:00 min., iron spoon 16x3.5x2.3cm, cooperated by Yamagishi metal casting workshop

For this piece, Yamashita and Kobayashi produced a spoon from the land.
The artists used a magnet to gather iron sand along the Iioka coast of Chiba, Japan, then extracted iron from the sand through a reduction reaction process and used that iron to cast the spoon.
This is a work themed on "producing something out of nothing".
